Product Parameter Description:

The module is based on the MAX30205, a temperature sensor that accurately measures temperature and provides an overheat alarm/interrupt/shutdown output. The device uses a high-resolution analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) to convert temperature measurements to digital form.

An I2C-compatible two-wire serial interface allows access to the conversion results. The device accepts standard I2C commands to read data, set overheat alarm (OS) trip thresholds, and configure other features. When reading the temperature register, any changes in temperature are ignored until the read is complete. When the read operation is complete, the temperature register will be updated for a new temperature measurement.

The MAX30205 has three address selection lines for a total of 32 available addresses. The sensor has a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 3.3V, a supply current as low as 600µA, and a lockout-protected I2C-compatible interface, making it ideal for wearable fitness and medical applications. The MAX30205 measures the temperature of its own core temperature. The thermal path between the chip and the outside determines the accuracy of the temperature measurement. The external temperature is conducted to the chip temperature primarily through the leads and exposed pads. Therefore, the device is most likely to measure PCB temperature. For ambient temperature measurements, mount the device on a PCB (or part of a PCB) that is at ambient temperature. Due to the low supply current, device self-heating has the least effect on the temperature error.

The configuration register contains 8 bits of data and initiates a single transition (ONE-SHOT), enables bus timeout, shutdown control, fault queue set, data format set, selects OS polarity and determines whether the OS outputs will operate in comparator mode or interrupt mode.

The module uses the MAX30205 body temperature sensor to accurately measure body temperature and provide over-temperature alarm/interrupt/shutdown outputs, and uses a high-resolution delta-sigma analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) to convert the body temperature measurement data into digital form. Communicating via an I2C-compatible 2-wire serial interface, the I2C serial interface accepts standard write byte, read byte, send byte, and receive byte commands to read temperature data and configure the behaviour of the open-drain over-temperature shutdown outputs.The MAX30205 features a lockout-protected I2C-compatible interface, making it suitable for use in wearable fitness and medical applications.

OS over-temperature shutdown output pin description: When the MAX30205 sensor temperature is lower than 80°C (excluding 80°C), the OS outputs a high level of about 3.2V; when the MAX30205 sensor temperature reaches or higher than 80°C, the OS outputs a low level of 0V.


Usage:

Open the data max30205demo.ino test program, upload successfully, open the serial monitor, baud rate 9600, put your finger on the chip of the module, you can see the window read out the temperature will rise!
